Boynton man accused of making fake distress call that triggered $350,000 search

Boynton Beach -- Federal prosecutors charged an unemployed tow truck driver Tuesday with making the phony distress call to the U.S. Coast Guard earlier this month that triggered a 48-hour, $350,000 search-and-rescue operation off Boynton Beach earlier this month.

What a waste of time and valuable resources.  No telling what prosecution of the case will cost.
