Maybe they should have lakes soley dedicated to jet skis. They could make an island in the middle and make all the jet skis go in one direction like a NASCAR race or bumper cars....what do you think?? Good idea??

State to raise age limits for Jet Skis

Raising the age for operating Jet Skis and Wave Runners in New York to 14 is a step in the right direction but doesn't go far enough for those who want an outright ban on the personal watercraft on Lake George.

May, 1967 -- A 16-foot runabout pierced through the mid hull section of a 30-foot cabin cruiser in a collision on a lake in Missouri. One passenger in the cabin cruiser was killed, and eight were injured. Each boat carried five persons. The reported probable cause of this recreational accident was excessive speed and poor visibility. Boating Safety Certification

I am not a big advocate of lots of regulation in society. In the past I did not like the idea of making people have a license or safety certificate to operate a watercraft. With increasing numbers of boats and other watercraft and more accidents I think an argument can be made that the time has come for regulation. I don't think that it has to be overly burdensome but I believe that the benefits would outweigh the burden. Lives and bodies will be saved with a simple safe boating course and testing. See the attached article for an example of what it is getting like out on the water.....wow. Have a safe boating day!!
