Aren't pennies real currency??

Texas solo Ken Tarlton has spent years fighting over pennies. When disgruntled divorce client Michael Powell had $1,000 in attorney fees delivered to Tarlton's office in 20 sacks of unrolled pennies, Tarlton filed a motion to require Powell to pay for his time, bank redemption fee and additional costs. A judge then ordered Powell to pay $533 for his "chicanery," and specifically directed him to pay by cashier's check, money order or "folding money." But that ruling didn't end the fee fight. | | | |
